Lecture series by Prof. Maciej Szpunar

28 October 2026

One meeting, two captivating lectures

The opportunity to organise inspiring meetings with distinguished representatives of the legal profession for students of the WPiA UW is of paramount importance to our Faculty. Yesterday, 28 October 2026, we had the privilege of hosting Prof. Maciej Szpunar – an eminent scholar, adwokat, and the current Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union.

It comes as no surprise that the event featuring him enjoyed immense popularity despite the late evening hours – students eagerly gathered in large numbers to attend the lectures by the Professor, who spoke about his experience and responsibilities at the Court of Justice of the European Union. He addressed the significance of new technologies currently employed in various applicable procedures.

It was an exceptional opportunity to learn about the challenges faced by its judges through the perspective of an active member of the EU judicial body. The material was so extensive that the meeting was divided into two parts.

The event was also co-created by our distinguished faculty members. In attendance were dr hab. Anna Zbiegień Turzańska, prof. ucz., prof. dr hab. Robert Grzeszczak, and dr hab. Anna Zawidzka-Łojek, prof. ucz. Renowned guests were also present, including adw. Franciszek Wiącek and adw. Marcin Piechocki, who serve, respectively, as the Chair and Honorary Chair of the European Law Section of the Okręgowa Rada Adwokacka.

We are delighted by the overwhelming response this event received from our students, and we extend our sincere gratitude to the Professor, without whom this inspiring meeting would not have taken place. We wish to encourage future lawyers to pursue endeavours within EU structures, and this meeting is merely one of many initiatives planned for the future.
